Travel Consultant Phillip Arnott and FIJI’s Many Faces

Frist stop – Sheraton Resort & Spa Denerau. An excellent choice for your first couple of nights in Fiji. Great spot to put the feet up and relax after flying in from Melbourne. An excellent pool facility and plenty of water-based activities to keep the family entertained and relaxed during your stay.

Awesome thing about the Sheraton is that you can use the facilities of the Sheraton, Sheraton Villas and Westin Hotel and charge back to your room no matter where you’re staying.

After 3 delightful nights on the mainland island of Viti Levu, it was out to the Mamanauca Islands for the following 4 nights. Making our way down to Port Denerau, it was onto the Sea Fiji water taxi for the 45-minute ride out to the lovely 4.5 Star Tropica Island Resort.

Tropica Island Resort being an Adults Only resort is a brilliant location for couples and even singles who are after a quiet few days of rest and relaxation.Tropica Island (like all the Fijian Islands) provided me with some breathtaking sunsets. Perfect for a sundowner as the day draws to a close.

Plantation Island Resort was the next stop. An ideal resort for families with young kids. A Complimentary Kids Club will keep the kids entertained from morning ‘til night while Mum & Dad get to relax by the beach. Plantation Island is a 3-star resort on a 5-star location.

Alongside Plantation Island Resort there is the Adults Only 5-Star Resort of Lomani. Just a stone’s throw from Plantation Island, Lomani Resort caters to all your relaxation needs. Lomani has only 30 Bure and Suites, so is never overcrowded. Lomani Resort offered some of the best seafood one would wish to have. The crab was ever so fresh. Our group had a great evening with here.

After our 1-night stay at Plantation Island, it was into the golf buggies for the 5-minute drive over to the brilliant Musket Cove Resort. Upon arrival at Musket Cove, we are greeted to a wonderfully warm welcome by the staff. Soon after our welcome and check in, it was poolside with cocktail in hand.

Cool feature about Musket Cove is their “Island Bar”. Now this bar does not have traditional closing times…. It is literally “Last man standing”.

A couple of unique features of Musket is that the 2 Bedroom Bure come with a kitchenette and the resort also has a small general store which guests can buy basic supplies.
From Musket Cove it was back onto the Sea Fiji water taxi for the short ride over to Castaway Island Resort. Castaway is a 4.5-star resort that caters for adults and kids alike. Plenty of activity to keep young and old entertained. Castaway Island is also one of the gateway islands to Monuriki Island – Home to the Tom Hanks movie, “Castaway” #wiiillssoooonnnn

Our final day was here… So sad to leave this beautiful set of islands behind.. But it wasn’t before a brief trip out to Monuriki Island – home of the movie “Castaway” featuring Tom Hanks.

Midday arrived and it was time to say farewell to Castaway Island and head back to Port Denerau and then to Nadi airport for our Fiji Airways flight back to Melbourne and yep…. Back to reality!

Patagonia EcoCamp: For lovers of nature walks. For lovers of life.

Few words are needed to explain wonderful Patagonia. Creating a picture gallery is  very difficult because you just don’t know which pictures will not be included.

Antarctica February 2018 Escorted Group Tour – an amazing place and it just takes your breath away.

From Paradise Harbour to Deception Island, these aptly-named places signal a range of experiences well beyond those we usually encounter in our other travels. So, what will be our highlight?

– scenery, landscape?

– wildlife?

– zodiac landings?

– temperatures and climate?

– iceberg shapes, colours, beauty, carving, sounds?

– camping overnight on the ice?

– kayaking?

– a 50 knot, 7 metre waves storm in the Drake Passage?

The main act is going to be Antarctica. But Santiago was a good support.

Yes it’s the main act everyone comes for. But we found that Santiago was a good starting  point for our Antarctica Escorted Group Tour.
