What good is a great tour if you don’t finish it well? The challenge of Turkey 2013 Group Tour.

September 25, 2013

imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageWe did. We finished it off really well on both the penultimate and also the last day of the Travelscene Hampton 2013 Turkey Group Tour.
Before our evening flight from Cappadocia to Istanbul we had a delightful one-and-a-half hour walk through another magic valley, punctuated with stops greeted first by a couple farming their plot and thrusting just-picked tomatoes into our hands and later a mother, father, and daughter offering molasses they produced.
And instead of just limping to the end, we were once again taken to inspirational heights the following day in our Istanbul cooking class (highly recommended: http://www.afiyetolsunistanbul.com).
After a delicious lunch eating the food we had just cooked, we rounded things off with a leisurely walk along the wide and long Istiklal Street, Taksim Square where the demonstrations had taken place a few months ago and the Pera District.
We did it; we were up to the challenge. Not only a great tour, but appropriately,it ended well!!

What a barrage of photos – the valley walk reminds me of the Painted Hills in South Aus. And more food! Great shots…Gerry

  2. Hi Janine & Alex, We have really enjoyed following your tour through Turkey. Isn’t it a fabulous destination!

Enjoy Cyprus. I was there 42 years ago so I will look forward to comparing experiences.

South Korea is a fantastic destination. We have eaten great food, seen some amazing temples and palaces and visited some fantastic National Parks.

Look forward to coffee and chats sometime in November…

    • Bruce and Thea. We remember how enthusiastic you were about your Turkey trip and how right you were. Yes, great destination. Quite a change of pace for us now in Cyprus and enjoying this as well. Looking forward to following your blog. Cheers, Alex & Janine.
