Hampton Travel & Cruise Senior Travel Consultant, Mandy Ward, has been cruising:
– an Adriatic 10-nights cruise (Venice to Istanbul), July 2014
– on board Silversea – Silver Spirit
Read on to find out why she loved it so much…

I have recently enjoyed the pleasure of cruising the Adriatic Sea in Europe with Silversea on board the luxurious 5 star Silver Spirit, the largest and latest ship in the Silversea fleet, accommodating up to 540 passengers.

My husband and I boarded the Silver Spirit in Venice & disembarked in Istanbul for a 10 – night cruise. Whilst every morning we awoke in a different port, we enjoyed the private and casual life onboard the Silver Spirit by day and the many dining, lounge and bar options followed by a show at night.

The Silversea elegance
The Silver Spirit offers elegant and refined luxury with stand-out service. All Staterooms come with a balcony and the services of a Butler who will unpack your suitcase, draw you a bath, arrange a cocktail, clean your luggage, shine your shoes for those formal nights and act as your concierge by securing dinner or spa reservations. Complimentary Bvlgari amenities were provided in our bathroom. All wines, spirits & other drinks are offered complimentary, including a well-stocked bar fridge in our stateroom with our choice of drinks!

This is the way to travel
After long days walking over ancient cobble stone streets and climbing steep hills of Hvar and Kotor to visit medieval fortresses and castles, or strolling around Olympia and Ephesus, we enjoyed returning to the ship and ordering afternoon tea served in our stateroom. Each night a turn down service was offered with a Caffarel Gianduia 1865 chocolate placed on our pillow. Daily newsletters and condensed version of various nationalities newspapers were provided. Bottled water, beach towels and fresh green apples were available to take ashore at each port. We also enjoyed relaxing on deck in the many lounges located in quiet areas where we could also order drinks.

Dining becomes a true highlight
The ship is designed so that with 100% capacity, guests will never feel crowded or cramped. Standing in line for meals is never an experience that Silversea guests ever have to endure. Dining is a true highlight onboard Silver Spirit and there is a choice of 6 restaurants: “The Restaurant” which offers the main dining restaurant with open seating dining – open for breakfast, lunch & dinner; “Seishin” with an Asian fusion menu; Stars Supper Club emulating the supper clubs of the 1920s and 30s, serving small plate menus accompanied with live jazz music; “Le Champagne” inspired by Relais & Chateaux serving 6-course meals paired with wines set in an intimate art-deco designed restaurant; “La Terrazza” – buffet breakfast and lunch and evening transforms into an elegant Italian restaurant with both indoor and Al Fresco seating; “Pool Bar & Grill” – serving casual lunches and dinners, the latter features a hot rock where guests may grill their own seafood and meat.

Nothing is too much trouble on a Silversea cruise!

(All gratuities are included in the fare, nothing additional is expected).
