Group members were busy fossicking for amethyst stones in the drizzling rain; I was happier reflecting on other Scandinavian treasures.

  • How lucky. Our tour director led us from the hotel to the river at 11.00pm. Northern Lights? This early in August? Yes!! At around midnight there was treasure in the sky. My grandchildren please note: the word “awesome” is reserved for sights and spectacles and experiences like this!
  • We are marvelling at the  beauty of pristine forests and the peaceful lakes and waterways.
  • Everywhere, in furniture design or architecture, there is elegance, simplicity and timeless appeal.
  • We don’t detect a class system, nor is there a dispirarity between rich and poor.image image image image image image image image image image

Ok Alex if you tell me that you met Santa Claus as well that will be 3 of my bucket list that you have done. The Northen lights look spectacular you have made my day after seeing those I bet that you can’t wait to see the southern lights on your next tour down under.

    • Stan. Don’t feel that you’ve missed out on a great deal with the Santa meeting. I’m pretty sure that we could set up a good re-enactment for you at Southland. But you’re right about those northern lights – breathtaking. Cheers, Alex.
